Key among the reasons why men perpetrates violence against women is poverty, White Ribbon Ghana has partnered NOHWEP an initiative to empower women against poverty by giving them capitals to start little businesses to help improve family lives of women.

NOHWEP is an initiative of a South African Philanthropist based in Ireland, Noeline Haylett who has so much passion and desire to help the rural poor in Ghana. Over 20 years, Noeline Haylett has provided school buildings, potable water and major relief items to the Volta Region, Eastern Region (Dwarf Island) and Upper East Region.
She is determined to see an end to violence against women by supporting women with start-up capitals for these women with a revolving fund of a group of five women in each group of about forty women. Women under NOHWEP are believed to be self-sufficient after some few months of engaging in their own businesses.
